Geocache Description:

"Hidden with permission from Idaho Fish & Game"

A series of quality caches to bring attention to a relatively unknown but quiet and beautiful area. The days we placed the caches, we walked a total of almost 4 miles round trip and we only hit a small area of the 240 acres available to explore.

Henderson Ranch Trust is a former ranch now owned by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. The previous landowner planted ponderosa pine on the drier upper bench and white pine on the moist bottomland.

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game acquired this parcel in 1997, called the Derr Creek Segment, using funding from the BPA Mitigation Program. Managed for wildlife habitat, you will likely see waterfowl in the wetlands and enjoy impressive views of the nearby Cabinet Mountains and the distant Selkirk’s. There are also obvious sign of deer, elk, coyote and moose all over the place.

This is the "backside" of the property which sees relatively little action. But you can walk along the base of the mountain on game trails which meander through a few wet wet areas.
About this cache: A small lock & lock camoed with trade items and a coin to start it out. off the ground and easy to grab.

If you can make it out here in the winter, then you just may find the cache without much trouble
