facefromthepast: Wow! I lost track of how long it had been since this amazing weekend! It's past time to put it to bed, I guess.
I started from that evening trying to think what I was going to say when I did this, and I have to confess I still don't quite know. Yeh, I worked my tail off making this happen, but even with all I put into it, it would never have happened without you all. I don't dare start naming people, as I will forget someone for sure, and I don't want to do that. From moral support to donated goods, many hours before the event put in by several of you, and finally, on race day, the assistance of the Race staff - thank you all from the bottom of my heart! You rolled with the last minute changes, made do a few times, and bailed me out more than once. In short, you were great!!!
And then the racers - WOW!!!! I just wasn't sure what to expect, but you all exceeded my wildest dreams! You bought into the activities and clearly gave it your all, and watching you give the proverbial 110% suddenly made the time, expense, and tears all worth it. I set out to make it a fun and challenging day for you, and you paid me back well with your exuberant participation. Exhausted as I was, I had more fun than I could have ever dreamed watching you all. Thank you SO much!
As I stated earlier, you will want to keep this listing on your watch list, as I will use it to make a few announcements in the future. I have permission to place the new cache - just need to get out there to do it. Shouldn't be long now. Secondly, I guess we have a date for next year, barring something major happening in the interim. How does June 21 sound? When I submit the event listing next year, I'll also post a note here so you will have a slight advantage if you want to race again next year.
