''The Tall Banker'' is a gigantic statue set to indicate Kirchberg's true callings, as the home of bankers and major corporations. At almost 8 metre in height, ''The Tall Banker'' was created in 2002 by a group of German artists named "Inges Idee” including Hans Hemmert, Axel Lieber, Thomas A.Schmidt and Georg Zey to define a successful corporate culture, where progress, profit, optimisation and vision are key.
Standing in front of the Deka Bank, ''The Tall Banker'' is generally one of the art pieces that reach a wider audience in Kirchberg. Easy to notice, many people acknowledge it, but not many know the history behind the gigantic man carrying a briefcase.
The statue has the waist of a normal person, but is 8m tall. His bespoke suit, umbrella, and newspaper are similarly scaled as are his size 96 (!) shoes. Stylishly dressed, and equipped with the typical accessories of a banker, this statue is both serious and a comical wink at the typical banker.
