Geocache Description:

You’re looking for camouflaged micro.

With thanks to Dawn&Dave we have added “Snake Lane” to this series of caches around a popular circular walk of approximately 4 miles that we start from Ashby where there is a parking area. Walk towards and past the church of St Mary’s Ashby picking up the Angles Way footpath, then along the track, around Kitty’s Farm and onwards to Lound Town Pits. Wind your way across the common and then up to the village of Lound where you can feed the ducks at the village pond and refreshments for yourselves at the village pub. The path then leaves the road to the left of the pub along a track named Snake’s Lane then back to the car park.
The infamous Snake lane of Lound is first mentioned in the Doomsday book of 1086. Because the snakes of Ashby and Lound have supernatural powers they are regarded with awe and veneration. Snakes are cared for by the locals and secret meetings are held during the full moon when newly learned snake knowledge and experiences are exchanged. Local legend states that " Fairies, elves and demons often transform themselves into snakes.
