Geocache Description:

Terrick Terrick National Park is 225km NW of Melbourne and 4km north of Mitiamo. Entrance to Mount Terrick picnic and camping areas and the White Cypress Pine forest is off Sylvaterre-Timms Lake Road.


Terrick Terrick National Park is 225km NW of Melbourne and 4km north of Mitiamo. Entrance to Mount Terrick picnic and camping areas and the White Cypress Pine forest is off Sylvaterre-Timms Lake Road.

 

The isolated granite outcrops of are surrounded by extensive areas of Northern Plains Grasslands that provide imposing views and contrasting landscapes. Terrick Terrick National Park contains one of the largest, most intact tracts of indigenous northern plains vegetation in Victoria. An abundance of wildlife gives the park high conservation value, making it a very special place indeed.

30 kms further west of GC4A5GM off Mt Terrick Rd are several geocaches,  both on the walk to the pinnacle, and trig points on the pinnacle and Sylvaterre area. Further geocaches can be found in the nearby towns of Mitiamo and Pyramid Hill, as well as on Pyramid Hill, Mt Hope and Kow Swamp.

T is for Terrick comprises a series of 40 caches of micro to regular size hidden along the roadside. It is designed to be completed from 1-40 or you can zig zag along the roadside if not planning a return journey to Echuca.

Please park well off the roadside and watch the youngsters. There is off course the possibility of snakes and spiders. Some caches may appear to be on private property as they are inside the roadside tree planting fences, but rest assured, they are in roadside plantings with access that does not involve climbing the fences. Be aware that some fences are damaged and there may be wire creating tripping hazards.

The Cache: A small cache hidden in a traditional manner. BYO pen.
