Geocache Description:

Golden, County Tipperary.

The village was known as Goldenbridge in the past. It is situated on the River Suir between the towns of Tipperary and Cashel.

There is a ruined castle standing on the small island in the middle of the river which the village bridge links with both banks. A memorial sculpture of Thomas MacDonagh (1878 – 1916) is located near the castle. He was an Irish nationalist, poet, playwright, and a leader of the 1916 Easter Rising.
