Rockport area cachers are invited to join the Spring Clean-up @ Rockport Beach, April 20, 2013. Geocachers meet with MiMi&PaPaC at coordinates; a cabana near the Beachfront pavilion@ 8:30 am so that we can gather, take a group photo of "before", exchange trackables and then get to the task of cleaning up our beaches @ 9am! At noon we will take an "after" pic (this is the one we'll use for logging attendance) to see just how much trash the Geocachers can pick up!
Celebrate Geocaching by Cleaning Up at a CITO Event Geocachers will demonstrate their commitment to the environment by the bagful in April, attending Cache In Trash Out (CITO) events over the 11th Annual International CITO Weekend.
1st - Please go online to register @ the Texas Adopt-A-Beach website. (visit link)
Be sure to mention GEOCACHING in the comments section of your registration with Texas Adopt-A-Beach! We can use this opportunity to make it known to the powers that be, just how eco-minded the geocaching community is! Together we CAN make a difference!
After we meet at the cabana, we can then show up AS A GROUP (let's make it a large group!) @ 9am @ the Beachfront Pavilion, Rockport Beach. Be sure to wear your GEOCACHING t-shirts!
You will receive cleanup data cards, pencils, trash bags, and disposable gloves when you check in that morning.
Dress comfortably – wear closed-toe shoes - Don't forget to SUNSCREEN!. Bring: Drinking Water, Hats, Bug Repellant, Grabbers. In other words, most all of the things you normally bring while geocaching!
Those attending any CITO event on April 20th will earn a 2013 CITO souvenir for their geocaching profile! This is a family friendly event! Come one, come ALL! Hoping lots of folks turn out for a great cause!
As mentioned above, we will reunite after all the trash is collected for another photo & then spend a bit more time trading collectibles & stories. Maybe go for lunch?
