Pu'u 'Ualaka'a Park is a favorite stop for visitors to Oahu but it is surprising how many residents have never been here to enjoy the breathtaking views of the city. The best time to stop by is early morning when the air is cool and fresh. You will be in quiet solitude as the shamas and red cardinals sing their greetings to the day.
Pause at the lookout to check your gpsr and you will see that it points to this cache’s namesake. The short hike is not dangerous but please be prepared for mosquitoes and possibly some slippery mud. Park hours are 7am to 6:45pm.Do not leave valuables in your car while parked here.
**Important!** Before you leave, please replace the container where you found it and hide well!
February 2013 Update: It does not seem like the Palm appears to be "strangled" any more as it was in 2002 when the cache was first placed. If anyone wants to see what it looked like, check out the photos in the gallery from back then. I'm glad that both the tree and the cache have survived til now!
