Important Information
Permission to place GCs was given by Black Hawk College [BHC] Police & Grounds departments on March 1, 2013. BHC greets GeoCaching with open arms. As the CO [Chrillusionist] of most of the caches located on the BHC campus(es)**, I see GCing as a wellness opportunity for all to walk, hike, run, snowshoe, cross country ski, & bicycle.
*We challenge you to do the Hustle! :-) The sheer number of GC hides on the Quad Cities Campus was inspired by the Hawk Hustle, a four mile cross country race that BHC has held on campus. If you go after all of the GCs in a certain order (sequence found as you go through the caches), you will follow a similar route and travel four miles. The terrain rating is based off of parking in BHC’s parking lot 4 and doing the series in the listed order; you may start wherever you want. Check this page’s ‘Bookmark List’ to see if a list is provided.
Unless you have a current BHC hang tag, plan to park in BHC’s parking lot 4 which is free. The entrance is to the North of 34th Avenue across from buildings 3 & 4 (between 60th & 70th Street in Moline). No vehicles, including bicycles, are allowed off road & do not stop on roadways (most are one way & narrow). Bicyclists may walk their bicycles off road.
BHC’s Police Officers & Grounds Crew are informed of the general GeoCache locations. If approached & questioned, please identify yourself as a GeoCacher. GCers are allowed 24/7 access as long as we are not destructive/disruptive. Please be a good GeoCaching citizens & the Geocaching.com disclaimer also applys to BHC, “Cache seekers assume all risks involved in seeking a cache.” Practicing CITO is greatly appreciated.
Each GC hidden at the BHC Quad Cities Campus owned by CO Chrillusionist will have a letter or number on/in it. Be sure to record which letter or number is on/in which cache. I will be putting out a puzzle cache sometime in the future that will require this information to find the location of the hide.
Thank you for reading this & happy GeoCaching! :-)
**Chrillusionist is a BHC employee & hopes to place caches at all BHC locations. I do illusions so sleight of hand, deception and distraction might be involved in locating and retrieving GeoCaches.
