Geocache Description:

This cache is a camoed PB jar placed at an odd convergence of several roads in the heart of Perth County. Lots of parking near the cache. Should be a quick find. Enjoy. Please replace as found.

Perth County has some of the most beautiful, rich and productive farmland in southwestern Ontario. On your way to this cache you will have to pass through a lot of it no matter which direction you approach. The cache is located in a tree on a man-made mound on top of what used to be the road itself. You may also notice the drainage ditches nearby that are key to farming this area. The trees near GZ on the small mound were mostly planted there on purpose as you can see from the outgrown mouse collars and the fact that the jack pines are planted in a row. Nature doesn't do it that way. The road (now County Road 119) was obviously moved and the intersection modified for better flow of traffic. If you examine the landscape in the area (e.g., Google Earth) you may notice that the original intersection connecting CR 119 to CR 131 was actually about 375 m to the west. You may also notice that the intersection has been modified several times over the years from all the various "ghost roads". You have to wonder what they might do next. If you are wondering about the cache name - my great grandfather built one of the nearby farmhouses after arriving from the UK in the 1850's and my grandfather was born there. The house along with the land were sold long ago and although the house has been modified it still stands and is in use.
