Geocache Description:

One professor here has incorporated sustainable practices into their students’ art projects. In pottery, the glassy smooth covering on the surface of a pot is called a glaze. Glazes are usually classified as high or low fire, meaning they can only be heated at specific temperatures on certain types of clay. Glazes can be easily ruined if mixed improperly with other glazes, dirt, and oil, making it almost impossible to reuse. However, the pottery professor has combined both leftover high and low-fire glaze to create a mixture that creates a beautiful and interesting effect when poured into an etched design. Most of these are then lent to the Food Forest group to use as a foot path.
