This is the famous Hale O Kaili Heiau. This heiau was dedicated by Kamehameha the Great to his war god Ku.
This is a very culturally significant area, so PLEASE be respectful!
The heiau itself is fenced off by a wooden fence. There are no visible structures inside the fenced area. However, enjoy the beautiful view of the shoreline/ocean from the cliffs. People frequently come here to fish.
Turn left at the listed RP below before 'parking'. The road will curve to the left. At the fork, if you drive straight ahead you will run into 'Rainbow Trees'. If you stay to the right at the fork, you will be heading towards 'Remember Me', 'Kapanaia Bay', 'Kapalama Heiau' and 'Hale O Kaili Heiau'. 4WD recommended. If you don't have 4WD, park at the Halawa Catholic Cemetary and hike. About a mile one way.
The cache in not inside the Heiau. ***Do Not Enter the Heiau!***
This area is frequently windy, so be careful near the cliff edge.
