Geocache Description:

This Geocache is hidden near the shores of the beautiful Inchiquin Lough.

This is a popular fishing location for trout and coarse fish and the lough is fed by the River Fergus which rises from the Fergus River cave to the north-west. There are several islands on the lough one of which contains the remains of an ancient fort. Drainage works in the 19th century lowered the level of the lake and the shore line now lies more than a kilometer further south.

This location is suitable for children but dogs may need to be kept on a lead as cattle can be in the nearby field.

A lovely spot for a picnic.
