Welcome to Chester-Montgomery County's premier Geocaching Event! The first Event - thanks to Professor Benson!. The charter attendees voted to have this event every other month. This will be our formative meeting. We will be deciding on the formal name of the group at this event. Charter members from the first event are reqested to attend. The Second Thursday ChesMont Event Cache is just the working name of the event.

What is Second Thursday?

Second Thursday is an informal gathering to talk about geocaching and just socialize. It's a great way to get hints about caches that stump you, meet the faces behind your favorite caches (or the diabolical ones) and pointers for hiding your own caches.

Where is Second Thursday?

Our second gathering will be at a geocaching friendly local restaurant; The Main Street Café. They take cash and credit cards and offer individual checks. It is a BYOB and offer full free bottle service, so feel free to bring the poison of your choice!

Who comes to Second Thursday?

Everyone does. If you're a veteran cacher or this is your first one, it doesn't matter. It is always friendly and laid back. The "crowd" tends to be more adult, but there are usually a few youngsters at each event and they are always welcome.

When is Second Thursday?

It's the second Thursday of January, namely the 10^th to be specific. We start at 5:00 and usually carry on till 7:30 at the earliest (sometimes we stick around till 8:30). If you can't make it for exactly at 5:00, no problem. You're not considered late unless you arrive after everyone has left (by that time the Café will be closed!). It isn't uncommon for cachers to show up after 7:00 with the majority of cachers coming in around 5:30 to 6:00.

Extra things to keep in mind: If you pick up a Travel Bug or trackable coin at one of the events, make sure you log it out so it doesn't show up in the events list. Bring your geocaching wares for sale or trade! If a trackable sits as being listed in the event for a couple of months, the cache owner is the one that gets the e-mail from the TB owner(s). WIFI available! Since we may be a large group, consider a gratuity of 15% to 18% which is not on the check.
