Geocache Description:

When this farmland was settled in the early part of last century, the culvert became the head waters of a tiny stream which, following the lie of the land, empties into the last part of Kedron Brook.
Melrose Creek, as it has been gazetted on some maps, is more of a drain than a creek, only running when it rains, but boy when it does run, it's fast and furious, carrying all the stormwater runoff from the highest part of Clayfield. In times of heavy storms, it would break its banks and flow across Kalinga park to the Brook and on into Moreton Bay.

For the last 5 years the residents along Melrose Creek have suffered serious flooding, silt build up, pooling of water, mud and mozzies, as the last part of the creek and parkland was commandeered by the Airportlink tunnel construction. To celebrate the return of our park, our creek and our sanity, there are  6 geocaches to be found at the 6 crossings of the creek.

Please do NOT attempt to follow the creek to get to the next one, as most of it is private property, and it is actually easier by road or bike path. All geocaches are on, around, in, under, beside, through, near, above, below the bridges/crossings.

This number 4 in a 6xGC  series. Small eclipse container
