This cache has been placed in a very sensative area, near the local cemetary on the edge of the forest, so I would ask that people treat the area with due respect. This is our very first hide and I couldn't think of a better place to hide it.
This cache has been placed in memory of my dad who is buried within site of its hiding place. I grew up around the cache site and the New Forest was my playground, especially around here. Unfortunately my dad died in 2000 before we knew about geocaching but I know it is something he would have loved and would have been happy to spend hours out exploring with us.
The area the cache is hidden in is brilliant for bird life, and we've even had nightjars chirring away in the daylight during the summer. On a final note there are some nice swappables in the box, a geogoin that we've launched and would like to travel far and wide and a nice FTF pin badge.
Whilst the terrain isn't overly difficult the area is very popular with muggles so you need to keep a good lookout as you search for the cache. There is car parking available near the cemetary gates so it is almost a "cache and dash".
