Geocache Description:

This is the grave site of Peter C. Van Slyke who in 1816 moved from New York State to Indiana. In 1824 Van Slyke donated 62 acres of land for a new town to be started. The name for our town came from a suggestion by Dr. Hallet B. Dean who was from Bloomfield New York. Commissioners accepted the suggestion and named the new town Bloomfield Indiana.

Cemetery in Bloomfield of the family who donated the land for the town of Bloomfield to get started. To access cemetery turn north on Park Lane off Highway 54, then you will see a brown sign that says Vanslyke Cemetery, turn in gravel lot behind Subway and short walk from there to cemetery entrance. Your looking for a 35mm film case with log, BYOP.
