Shotover Country Park is on the eastern edge of Oxford and is on the southern slopes of Shotover Hill with stunning views across south Oxfordshire. The Country Park has a varied landscape and diverse habitats; a haven for a wide variety of wildlife.
The circuit can be started from the car park N 51° 45.110 W 001° 11.050 at the western end of the plain and takes you across the plain towards Wheatley before turning down to the village of Horspath. It then travels along the southern edge of the park before returning back to the car park. There are two caches near the start / finish of the route; "Henry's Hide II" and "Famous Grouse"
If you wish to take a longer walk why not start at the Thornhill Park and Ride and complete the other caches around Risinghurst.
It is advisable to use stout shoes as parts of the walk can prove extremely muddy at certain times of the year.
Please replace the caches carefully.
