This is a 5-stage multi cache that will take you on a bit of a zig-zag tour of Guelph.
Your zig-zag adventure begins at Woodlawn Memorial Park/Cemetery - the only cemetery in Canada on the Trans Canada Trail. While visiting, be sure to check out The Peace Pole, located in the North West corner of the cemetery (N43 33.674 W080 16.883). It stands at the entrance of the Trans Canada Trail. A Peace Pole is a monument that displays the message & prayer "May Peace Prevail on Earth". This particular pole shares the message in 18 different languages.
NOW, ABOUT THE CACHE: At the posted coordinates you need to gather some information to calculate the coordinates for Stage 2 as follows:
Convert each letter of Jacob's LAST name to its numerical value (eg. A=1, B=2,...). Take the sum, divide by 100 (yes, by 100) and add to these N coordinates N43 33.615
In what year was Jacob born? (Hint: 1 yr before his wife Harriet)
Divide by 1000 and add to these West coordinates W080 11.316
Stage 2: At the Zoo - choose wizely to get to Stage 3.
Stage 3: Hungry for more? Collect the redirect coordinates AND the instructions you will need at the next stage - take an instruction sheet, take a picture or just write down what you'll need to know later. Did I remind you that you need to pick up the instructions HERE for the next stage?
Stage 4: The Forest Trail - At these coordinates you will need the instructions you picked up at St 3 to project a waypoint to the FINAL cache location.
Project a waypoint from this location as follows:
DISTANCE: A + B
BEARING: C-1
Follow the nearby trail to the cache - located about 10 meters off the trail. Black taped lock 'n lock.
