Geocache Description:

London's 1st Annual

Amazing Geocache Race of 2012

The Post-Race Party & BBQ

The Event will be held from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm.

This time includes London’s 1st Annual Amazing Geocache Race of 2012 and the BBQ afterwards.

The first annual London Amazing Geocache Race of 2012 is being held on October 27th, and Geocacher's from all over are welcome to participate. Race instructions will be handed out at the event.

Teams interested in registering for the race are encouraged to log their “Will Attend” before the race. We also ask that you please log your intent to attend on this page whether you are racing or not.

The actual race itself starts at 11:30 am at 3 Manley Dr., Dorchester (the coordinates above).

If you are unsure whether or not you can make the race itself or just the BBQ, log your “Will Attend” and let us know if you are planning on participating in the Race. It will make it FAR easier for us to plan.

Teams participating in the race are encouraged to arrive at the posted coordinates between 11:00 am and 11:15 am to insure they are registered and in attendance for the pre-race announcements. All teams will leave the starting line at 11:30 am exactly (although late comers are still able to participate in the race).

This event will be held after the race and is a gathering for all Geocachers whether they participate in the race or not. The get together will take place at 3 Manley Dr., Dorchester (the coordinates above) at 4:30 pm.
This is the actual finish line for the Race itself.

The event will consist of the regular meet and greets, drinks, food, talk of Geocaching and caching adventures, bug and coin swapping, as well as the actual crowning of the winners for London’s 1st Annual Amazing Geocache Race of 2012.

This is BBQ so feel free to bring anything you wish to cook. You can also bring drinks, snacks or anything else you wish to contribute to the BBQ. If you are going to bring something regardless, please make a note of it when you log your intent to attend. As host of the race, I will be providing pop, water, hamburgers, and hotdogs so you can cross those off as items to be brought. All cachers who participate in the Race should be in attendance as the winners will be announced at this event.

Come on out and meet some fellow geocachers and see who gets crowned winner of London’s 1st Annual Amazing Geocache Race of 2012. This event is for the post party celebration only. If you are planning to come to the race/BBQ, PLEASE log a “Will Attend” so I have some idea of how many to expect.

I know if you’re like me, you get excited when you hear that ping noise coming from your phone. “Right on a new cache.” You load it and run out the door to see if you can get that FTF (first to find). As you approach, you wonder if any other cachers have been here yet or are you first. Now that’s exciting. Hope you have the fun that Mat (Egghammer) and I had racing around not knowing if the SFL crew were a head of us or behind us. Where else can you get some good fun like this?
For this event there will be 10 caches plus a final (plus some other tasks needed to be done to get the coordinates for these caches). The caches will be around the London area. The caches will be all different ratings with most being regular size containers. It should be a good family fun time.

Hope to see everyone at the event!

If you are new to Geocaching or have never attended an event, this is one you won’t want to miss.

Congratulations to gr812nv for winning the 2012 Geocaching Amazing Race
