From the beginning of time when cavemen were throwing rocks at each other till now with munitions that are so smart that they can be guided through a window only 2 feet square, AMMO has been a critical profession to every conflict and AMMO troops have been gathering, storing, assembling and delivering munitions to the fight. AMMO troops are well known as the hardest working people in the Air Force. We party as hard if not harder than we work!
This symbol carries a rich history of bravery and valor. It is among the oldest of military insignia. Today there are as many variations as there are ammo troops, but the basic shape of the pitch pot with the flame coming out of the top has stayed true to form. It is the symbol of our long and proud heritage and we have the utmost pride in it and what it stands for.
