Geocache Description:

BYOP. I WILL DELETE ANY SPOILERS (LOGS/PICTURES) THAT INDICATE WHERE THE CACHE IS LOCATED. DO NOT LEAVE FOOD OR LIGHTERS IN THE CONTAINER.

DULUTH COMPLEX- This area is known geologically as the DULUTH COMPLEX. It is thought to contain the world’s largest undeveloped deposits of non-ferrous (not iron) metals. The middle of these deposits are here on Highway 1 at Mile Marker 297 and 30 miles south and west of here. When the permitting process is finished, this will become the country’s newest mining area with open pit and underground mines.

PALLADIUM.

Palladium is an extremely pliable material and can be rolled into thin sheets or drawn into fine wire. It is very resistant to corrosion, but susceptible to attack from strong acids. Palladium is used in catalytic converters which remove toxins from automobile emissions. In addition, palladium is used in jewelry, scientific instruments, for electroplating and is used in dentistry as filling material and sometimes in dental instruments
