Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the listed coordinates. To find the actual coordinates, answer the questions below.

This is the second cache in a series. I am not adding a coordinate checker since it's multiple choice and I want to avoid making it possible to get the answers by trying different combinations. If you would like to verify your answer before going out to look for it, send me an email.

There will eventually be a bonus cache for this series (the first cache is GC3KAAP). To get the bonus cache, you'll need to note the bonus letter, which is printed on the cache log.

The coordinates of the cache are N 34 12.XXX W 118 11.YYY. To get XXX and YYY, match each of the following terms with a definition:

A) Selective availability
B) C/A-code
C) Multipath
D) Gold code
E) Anti-spoofing
F) Navigation message

[881]  Modulates GPS signals on top of other codes at 50 bit/s

[566] A binary sequence used to modulate various GPS signals (both civilian and military). Each satellite has a unique sequence of this kind

[476] An intentional degradation of the civilian GPS signal for national security purposes that was turned off in 2000

[871] A source of errors in GPS position estimation that occurs when some of the signals received by the receiver are reflections (e.g off of buildings or the ground)

[443] Encryption of the military GPS signal that is still in effect

[176] Modulates the L1 carrier at 1.023 Mbits/s to produce the publicly available (non-encrypted) GPS signal available on all GPS satellites

To get XXX: Multiply the number associated with A) by 3, add two times the number associated with B), and add the number associated with C), then use only the laste three digits.
To get YYY: Multiply the number associated with D) by 3, add two times the number associated with E), and add the number associated with F), then use only the laste three digits.

XXX = (3*A + 2*B + C) mod 1000
YYY = (3*D + 2*E + F) mod 1000
