A traditional cache consisting of a small lock and lock plastic container. Enough room for swaps and TBs of modest size. Cache is more or less a cache and dash but since it is adjacent to the car parking for North Ballow woods can be include as a propper visit.
North Ballow wood is owned and maintained by Forrestry Commission Scotland. The wood is also popular with mountain bikers although all we have seen are the tracks and some hairy ones there are too. Heading up hill from the parking area you have a clockwise or anti-clockwise choice to circumnavigate the hill once you reach the junction at the top of the first bend. If going anti-clockwise you will come to a fork in the path and if you take the left you can head downhill to Laird's Loch which is a nice wee place to pause and contemplate the failed fishery enterprises and the forlorn rowing boats lying abandonded. Sometimes you can see a dorsal fin of a brown trout now quite large!
The cache is placed close to the roadside verge so not on FC land. It is not hard to find so please don't dismantle the already collapsed dyke.
