Geocache Description:

Welcome back to North Tonawanda, Eliza Jane style.

During the winter months, Eliza Jane and Boots did not take many of their long walks like they did in the other seasons.  This past winter, Eliza Jane and Grandmother were visited by Awaogoh, an interesting Native American woman that Grandmother had met yesrs ago.
One day when she visited, she told Eliza Jane a legend of the Dreamcatchers.  Here is what Awaogoh told Eliza Jane.....

"Who we call The Ojibwa of the Great Plains believe the air is filled with both good and bad dreams. If you make a Dreams Catcher to hang near your bed, the good dreams pass through the center hole to the sleeping person.  The bad dreams are trapped in the web, where they will go to the land of the spirits at the light of dawn. The circle represents the path of the sun as it travels across the sky each day. A feather you must have, as it represents life. And it is the spider who spins the web to protect those who are asleep."

Awaogoh then showed Eliza Jane how to make a Dream Catcher with some bits of ribbon, feathers and beads.  It was fun and Eliza Jane made many over the winter months.  One special one for Grandmothers bedroom and one for Uncle William too!

If you like Eliza Jane's Dream Catcher, maybe you could make one as well?
