Dry Dock Engagement Photos Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

jennkarita: Visited this one today - kind of sad to see the graffiti and lack of maintenance down in this beautiful area. This cache had a good run, but I feel it's time to open the area up again.

Geocache Description:

CACHE IS NOT AT POSTED COORDINATES. Welcome to Clute's Dry Dock! At this cache you will learn about this interesting part of the Vischer Ferry Preserve, that is also one of the locations that beeb294 and I took our engagement photos last fall.
**Please bring your own pen until I get some that will fit in the cache**

You will be looking for a small lock and lock after gathering some answers at a sign at the I.P. Be sure to re-hide the cache well and enjoy checking out this interesting area!

To find the North coordinate:
Find the year the dry dock was refurbished and enlarged and subtract from that the year it opened. Take that number and add 1. Subtract your total number from I.P.

To find the South coordinate:
Count the number of letters in the name of the original owners of the dry dock and multiply by the number of letters in Nicholas's last name. Add to that number the difference of years between the year Nicholas acquired the dry dock and when it was built. Once you have that number, add 10. Add this total number to I.P.

Hope you enjoyed your history lesson!

**Congrats to Timpat for being FTF!***
