End of the Lagoon Traditional Cache

Yet another Ballona Lagoon cache. This is where it ends and connects via pipes that are mostly closed, underneath Washington Blvd. to the Venice canals.
This is a magnetic cache and, except for a small variation, is pretty much like all other magnetics---the cache is attached to metal using magnets! I'm a genius!
The only difference is I used magnets much stronger than ferrous. I did this for two reasons. The first reason you will become aware of when you find it. The second reason is so I could make a cool warning complete with yellow alert triangles to make sure you read it!
Neodymium magnets are the most powerful permanent magnets in the world. (Permanent magnet being one that is made from non-naturally magnetized material and is then magnetized. This creates a powerful persistent field.) To prevent them from flying out of the cache to the nearest metal, the four magnets used in this cache had to be securely sealed inside. The magnets were first adhered within the cache container with industrial-grade super glue. Once set, epoxy with a tinsel strength of 3000 pounds was used to further strengthen the seal. It was finished with marine-grade silicone. Stainless steel was used in other parts of the cache since it has practically no magnetic attraction. I just did that because it was a pain trying to control anything ferromagnetic around those dang magnets. I wish they would make stainless steel Dremel Moto Tool tips. So anyway, try to imagine a container in your head after reading that. You will find it attached to something that has metal in it. Not many places for a cache around here so you should find it easily. ;-)
The baggie that holds the log is held in place with a Velcro strip. It's kinda hard to notice that that's what it is. Just pull to get baggie and replace band over baggie.
There are always lots of people walking by in this area any time of the week, day or night. And it's also just across the street from Baja Cantina. Good food and a fun hangout, but it gets very busy and since many of the customers park near GZ, please be very super stealthy with this one. Any time you think you have spotted it, keep your head on a swivel. People tend to just pop up behind you from nowhere. Night is the best time as far as muggle avoidance goes. Next would be early morning. I would hope that nobody attempts this on a weekend without teamwork. Be creative and pretend to be doing something else while making the grab. I went to check it and practice the grab. I'm the CO and it was difficult! I finally resorted to taking my camera out and pretending to take pictures while grabbing with other hand. Use you geosenses to spot it and creativity for distraction from the grab.

Difficulty level 3 for camo and extremely high muggle factor. Please be sure to notice arrows inside the cache and return it with arrows pointing up. If replaced the other way, it won't sit flush and risks falling from "hiding" spot. BYOP and have fun!
