In Ft. Tuthill County Fairgrounds near the racetrack.
After 50 years of holding quarterhorse/thoroughbred racing over the 4th of July week the event was canceled two years ago.
This is the second year of a dark racetrack and there is some doubt that it will resume in the foreseeable future.
The races were always held over the 4th of July week as that is the week of the Prescott Rodeo enabling horses racing a Yavapai Downs to come to Ft. Tuthill.
Sugested parkimg is at the NE corner of the paved Fairgrounds parking lot. A 150 yard level walk will get you to the GZ.
Yavapai Downs went into bankruptcy and until racing resumes there it is unlikely that Ft. Tuthill will have another meet.
This is unfortunate for race fans, horse owners and trainers and the workers who make the race meeting happen.
