This cache is dedicated to celebrate and honor the life of our friend Patrick who recently passed away from melanoma cancer on April 21, 2012 at the age of 34. Pat was a great friend to all who knew him and could be found talking story with many of his friends who hung out at Zoom. My husband and I introduced his two older kids to geocaching and they loved those adventures that would take us exploring their hometown for treasures. So, the kids thought this was a perfect place to hide their Daddy’s honorary cache since it was a favorite spot of his and the kids would have the opportunity to drive by it often. The girls shared a fun memory with us when they would go with Daddy to Zoom where Dustin would turn on the stereo room and let them dance like crazy while their Daddy chatted with the guys. He was an AMAZING father to his three children (ages 7, 4, 2) and this cache celebrates several of the things they saw their Daddy enjoy in his life…family, friends, hunting, fishing, games, poker, Nascar, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Dutch Bros., Oregon State Beavers and raising lambs…just to name a few. Each of the items initially placed into this cache represents those things Pat enjoyed about his life as seen through the eyes of his children. The girls made a list and picked out each item themselves. This cache is to share with you how incredible of a person Pat was. He was known for his sense of humor and his uncanny ability to make everyone feel like his friend. So smile, think of Patrick and celebrate life to the fullest!
