Joan Green, a local landowner, bequeathed 8 acres of her land to war amputees returning from WW 2. 15 men, a combined 14 legs and 28 arms, worked the land, breaking in the gorse and sand dunes to create a place that they could come to for some R & R. The land was later sold and is now a lovely park for all to enjoy.
I found this park on a day when I was looking for some beach access for fishing. Nicely kept by councill and frequently used by car groups and by mountain bikers.
While there read the information about the park.
