Welcome to the Southern Rockies' GeoCache 13 . Updated 2020
Hunter Valley Road is one of our most northwestern places accessible via vehicle (excluding OHV's). Park anywhere off the road, and hike along the river's edge to the cache.
This road is DEFINITELY not recommended for driving after rains.
As of April 15th 2014 there are 2 more prizes available. These will be handed out on a first come first served basis.
Lodgepole pine, or Pinus contorta, is known as a "fire species". It's cones only open up and release viable seed when exposed to the heat of a fire, or a prolonged heat wave.
Hidden in the forests along the southern slopes of Alberta’s Rocky Mountains are 15 caches, each with a different piece of a puzzle. Collect all 15 pieces and bring them (or mail them) to the address provided in order to receive the grand prize. Hint: there are no caches at wildfire tower lookouts. Caches have been placed with permission.
