Come and explore one of the bi-products of Roslyn's coal mining history. This giant slag heap was formed from the left overs of the process of getting the useful material seperated from the useless material that was mined.
Once mining operations in Roslyn were shut down, the slag heap remained, and there are now scattered trees and wildflowers growing on it. To get to the cache, you must hike up the slag heap, to a mound in the back of the pile. Be careful as the ground is a bit uneven. Please be careful around the nearby cliff. Please enjoy this great piece of mining history and make sure to rehide the cache well. Parking can be found at the base of the slag heap next to the Coal Miners Trail.
