I normally go out to the Wadi Thursday afternoon with a group of teachers who run, walk, or crawl around for an hour or so before gathering for a snack, cold drink, conversation, and a fine sunset. Typically I wander off on my own, looking for places to hide caches or find the odd one I haven't already located. I don't have a car, so these trips are great as we often go farther in than I can walk (with my small kids). So, I was thrilled when we parked just below a new cache (Joe's Volcano) and was able to trek up to find it. When I returned to the canyon floor, one of the kids with the group (Gabe) had found an ideal spot for a medium sized cache. I already had one in my bag ready to go. It is a great spot to poke around and scramble with your kids in the rocks. You can also see the easy trail up to Joe's Volcano or stare with equal parts longing and apprehension at the cave above that marks the entrance to the daunting (and as yet, unfound) Underworld Cache.
The cache is a medium clear plastic box. There are some small tradables inside. Enjoy!
