Whenever we go to Florence Falls, we always walk to the falls via the Sandy Creek walking trail. This is one of the nicest short walks in Litchfield. It is only a little bit longer than going down the stairs but so much nicer.
It is a gentle stroll down that starts in open scrubland, but soon enters the cooler, shady jungle following a lovely creek. It is paved for most of the way as well.
While enjoying the shady walk along here, you may spot a variety of fauna like colourful lizards and butterflies or even rock wallabies. A bit further along the path from the cache, after it crosses the creek, there is even a small cave you can squeeze into. All up, a great walk that shouldn’t be missed.
