Geocache Description:

Welcome to Trout Brook!!

I have enjoyed hiking, horseback riding and Mtn biking in this park for over 30 years. I hope you enjoy this park and trail system as well. This cache is located in the parking lot, so stealth is required. Please bring your own pen as this is a log only cache. Please respect the posted hours which is from dusk to dawn.

TROUT BROOK RESERVATION lies within a 660 acre preserve managed by the Town of Holden. Trout Brook is open to the public with ~8 miles of publicly accessible trails. The wooded trails are maintained by volunteers. There is a system of trails for walking, cross-country skiing and mountain biking. Ice skating on the pond near this Manning Street entrance is popular. A gathering area around the pond includes a lodge, picnic pavilions and open field. The park is mostly wooded. It has a spring-fed trout-stocked pond and covered pavilion with seated benches underneath. Trout Brook flows alongside the park and into nearby Quinapoxet River. Both streams hold trout and are stocked by the Department of Fish and Wildlife. Dog's are allowed in Trout Brook, but beware there is a leash law which is strictly enforced.
