Akay Folly Restored Traditional Cache

An easy walk to the south of Sedbergh to an excellent viewpoint of Winder and the Howgills.
This cache replaces Akay Folly which had to be archived after its sheltering tree was blown down in 2012.
There are not many caches in Sedbergh capable of holding Travel bugs so this is a medium size cliplock box. Make sure you hide it well again.
If combined with Our First Little’un, Confluence (GC1QMTC) , Little North Western (GC1KNAC), Flax Mill (GC1KNBQ), and Rothay Ramble you have a delightful walk ending at the lovely Brigflatts Quakers meeting house, Quakers Quest(GC3FP70). You can then add Not a Viaduct (GC1QMRQ) returning across the fields.
The nearest parking is at N54 18.990 W002 31.319, in which case you can add ‘Akay House’ to your walk.
NOTE: The cache is not hidden in the wall.
For many years the folly deteriorated and became unsafe. But with the aid of a lottery grant it has now been rebuilt and is now a splendid structure. We understand that it will be available for the use of astronomers.
