Geocache Description:

Oregon birds: Red-shafted Flicker
Tanner Creek Park

Red-shafted, or Northern flickers are large, brown woodpeckers with black-scalloped plumage. Flickers eat mainly ants and beetles, digging for them in with their slightly curved bill. When they fly you’ll see a flash of red color in the wings and a bright white flash on the rump. They fly in an up-and-down path using heavy flaps interspersed with glides, like many woodpeckers. Listen for their calls: a woika woika woika, a long series of repeated kuk notes, a piercing keeww. You might find a one of these flickers looking for food very near this cache.

Tanner Creek Park contains play structures, a water feature play area, a skate park, open grass areas and lots of natural areas and paths. The path to this cache is paved, with a gentle slope.

You're looking for a lock-n-lock. Stocked with some swag, and for the first to find, a present.

Watch for muggles along the path.

Congrats to korsmofamily, alohacrazy5, and LA77 for the FTF!
