Geocache Description:

*** FTF Lat1tuders ***

The Unofficial Barrow Challenge
The series is approx 4.6 miles (7.4 km) long and has 18 caches to find. It took me 2hrs 10mins to set the trail, this should be a guide to you.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:-
1) Although generally flat, there are a few elevation changes, nothing too drastic though, i.e. 25m increase over approx. 800m distance and 30m increase over approx 500m distance.
2) Between caches #14 and #15 the footpath crosses a ditch which is approx. 1m wide and 1m deep, there is no way round and caution should be taken here.
3) If you are taking a dog, please note that there are some places where you are either passing enclosures with animals or directly crossing fields with animals in, please be a responsible dog owner and keep on a lead at these times. For reference, from cache #4 onwards you initially pass a deer farm, then after that prior to reaching #5 you cross directly through a sheep enclosure. Also between #15 and #16 I crossed another 'sheep infested' field.

Barrow Background
Barrow is a Suffolk village about eight miles west of Bury St Edmunds. The meaning of the village name is grove or wood, hill or mound. The Domesday Book records the population of Barrow in 1086 to have been 27, according to the Barrow online magazine - this number is around 2000 now. It has two shops, two schools, two pubs, a Post Office, and a Doctors Surgery - so, if you need something prior to starting the series, need to be educated on reading maps, some dutch courage, to send a postcard or treat a post series injury, this village ticks all the boxes!!

Route Directions
Having collected #6, continue west and then north along the footpath. GZ should be easily reached!

Caches
A mixture of containers has been used varying from nano to clip top boxes.
Small clip top box here.
Please bring your own pen as some of them have no writing tools!
