The cache is not at the coordinates listed above.
The waters off the west Australian coast are divided into four bioregions. Mandurah falls within the West Coast Bioregion, which extends from just north of Kalbarri through to east of Augusta. Within our bioregion, there are over 100 species of fish that are targeted and caught by recreational fishermen (and women).
Some of these targeted species are included in the crossword below. Good luck with working out the clues though… If you get stuck with identifying any of them, you could always go to the building across the road from the given coordinates and see if they can offer any assistance.
ACROSS:
DOWN:
Once you have worked them all out, the next step is to right out all the letters in the crossword in one long string, left to right, top to bottom, ignoring the spaces. Now number each letter 1, 2, 3,…., right through to 196.
The original coordinates for the cache location were
S 32° ??.???, E 115° ??.???.
Use the grid below to help you work out those coordinates.
To check that you have the correct original coordinates, simply add all the unknown digits in your final coordinates. They should add up to 42.
Due to mugglings, the cache is no longer at those coords though. Instead, it has been moved, but not very far. To find the final gz, simply add 0.004 to both the south and east decimal minutes.
Good luck everyone!
Keep on Caching!!
