Geocache Description:

Ahmanson Ranch area which is now part of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. Thankfully, the 30000 house project was squashed about 9 years ago.. Beautiful area, lush rolling hills, trails running everywhere to explore. Enjoy the area, bring some water and watch for snakes. The shortest way to the cache is out of the Vanowen Trailhead.

Out hiking the area and we added a few caches to the area. If you hiked in from the Vanowen trailhead then it will be mostly downhill from here. The path is well defined, in this area it is all single track. Please be wary of the native inhabitants and make sure you leave the area cleaner than when you arrived. Enjoy the views...on a clear day, they are quite beautiful. Thanks to Ecuadeb and Oldweeb for being great company!
