Taman Tun Fuad Stephens is one of Kota Kinabalu's best-kept secrets!
Named after a former Sabah Chief Minister, the park features a 2km paved (and hilly) path which winds around a lake, formerly a drinking water reservoir. Many joggers and walkers flock here in the morning and evening especially, although the path is generally shaded enough for relative comfort any time of day.
For those without a car: Bus 12A will get you within 500m of the park for a couple ringgit. Just be careful when catching the bus back to the city to ensure that it is going to KK as they do a loop through Beverley Hills before heading that way. (HT: brianhfox).
For the adventurous, about 1/2 mile further along from this cache is a steep path that leads up to a flat lookout (almost 500 feet in elevation), which gives Bukit Padang ("Field Hill") its name.
You are looking for green plastic container. The cache is not far along the path from the parking area. So come on out, find the cache and then take a lap or two. Afterwards, head down to the hawker centre beside the water to enjoy a meal and drink.
P.S. The GPS signal can be quite weak in this area, and I know many of the geocachers in Kota Kinabalu are tourists, so if you need an extra hint to get the smiley, let me know!
Appreciation
Congratulations to TiaHelve for the FTF
Thanks to Viajero Perdido, geo_alex, Timke48 and Wandelsloefke for the Favourite Points given. Much Appreciated.
While you're here, you'd be a fool not to keep going and find Bukit Padang - Hill top Panorama! Come on, it's just a little hill. :D
