The West River Trail follows a former railroad bed. It's hard to imagine a train moving along here. Just think of the work they had to do to fit train tracks here, between the river and the ledges.
Now, this trail is a good, flat walking and mountain bike trail. This cache fills in a spot between a couple of older caches along the trail.
You will be looking for a micro that may be hard to spot even though its hiding place is in plain sight. Your signal will be bouncing off the ledges, but you won't have to bounce too far to get to it.
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: The trail is now open from the Marina, as of May 4, 2014. Use caution passing through the construction zone. Be aware that the trail could be closed at any time.
The best parking for this is the trailhead parking lot near the Marina, off Putney Road (Route 5). Parking coordinates are N42 52.183/W072 33.634. You can also park at the north trail head on Rice Farm Road, at N42 54.400 W072 35.950.
