A sacred spring, or holy well, is a small body of water emerging from underground and venerated either in a pagan or a Christian context, often both. The term is commonly employed to refer to any water source of limited size which has some significance in the folklore of the local area. This can take the form of a particular name, an associated legend, or the attribution of healing qualities. In Christian legend, the spring water is often said to have been made to flow by the action of a saint. Our approach on the sacrality of these springs is slightly profane: it refers mostly to the holiness of native land.
Izvorul Firicel (Cérna-forrás) iese din pamant aproape de marginea Pârâului Rece de sub Lunca Popii din padurea Faget, Cluj-Napoca. Lunca Popii se afla la aprox. 3 km. vest de fostul poligon de trageri, la marginea unei vai paralele cu Valea Gârbaului. Este locul preferat al membrilor sectiei de turism al Asociatiei Sportive Vointa Cluj. Denumirea izvorului se datoreaza firului sub?ire de apa care izvoraste de aici, însa debitul mic este compensat de gustul extraordinar al apei acestui izvor.
Thread Spring (hungarian: Cérna-Forrás) comes out of the ground near the edge of Paraul Rece Stream under Lunca Popii Meadow, Faget Forest, Cluj-Napoca. Lunca Popii Meadow is approx. 3 km. West of the former shooting range at the edge of a valley parallel to Valea Gârbaului Valley. It is one of the favorite places of Vointa Association Cluj members. The name of the spring is due to the thin wire of water that comes out from here, but the low flow of the water is compensated by the great taste of the water of this spring.
