Geocache Description:

This is one of 25 caches Q125 Mesquite Geocache Challenge placed within the City of Mesquite as one of the many events throughout the year to help celebrate Mesquite’s Quasquicentennial: A year-long event to foster a pride of community, as well as develop an appreciation for Mesquite’s history.

This cache is in Centennial Park, located between Main Street and Davis Street on the corner of Carver Street. The park was created for the celebration of the Mesquite Independent School District’s 100th anniversary – “100 Years of Excellence in Education.” There are three bronze statues within the park and the walkway is lined with engraved bricks of those who donated for the park’s creation. Mesquite park hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. We would like to extend our thanks to Sandbassking & Queen and KD6FWD for each archiving a cache so that this Q-125 cache could be placed in a cooperative effort between the Historical Preservation Office/Historic Mesquite Inc. and Mesquite Parks and Recreation. Thank you.
