Geocache Description:

Save the date!! It's time for another entertaining World Wide Flash Mob! Saturday, June 9th 11:00 a.m. precisely. Folks from across the globe meet in cities and countries around the globe at the VERY SAME TIME to celebrate!

For this WWFM, Starnsun and OneKindWord are joining with us (your Green & Wolfish hosts) to create an opportunity for the LARGEST Flash Mob in Colorado History with a GeoCoinFest twist!!!!

Each attendee 13 and above will receive one opportunity to win a prize in the FREE "Young at Heart" draffle (very much like a raffle and a drawing) of a TALL ammo can filled with Geocaching goodies such as a 21-LED UV light & marker, trackables, cache containers, etc.

Each attendee 12 or below will receive one opportunity to win a prize in the FREE "Youngling" draffle (very much like a raffle and a drawing) of an ammo can filled with Geocaching goodies such as a trackables, cache containers, Silly Bands, etc.

GCCO is providing one GCCO Gold Coin for the Event. It will be included in the "Young At Heart" draffle.

While we are not charging for the raffle, we are hopeful that you will elect to donate to the "fishbowl" to support the upcoming (and, obviously, completely fabulous) GeoCoinFest in October, which will be the very first Mega ever in Colorado!).

Put a watch on this listing for details of the event and of the prizes we'll be adding and for the sponsors to the Mega prizes, and be sure to let us know if *you'd* like to donate something to these fun prize packs to help support the GCF and Colorado's first MEGA!!!

Pick up some silly string . . . meet at the stated coords PRECISELY @ 11:00 a.m.!!!! Bring your cash to throw into the fishbowl to support the Mega!

Join us and become a part of this short, sweet and world-wide event and also support GeoCoinFest, Colorado's first Mega Event.

And, YES, if you attend and bring string, also expect to help clean up! lol

Looks like 84 folks were in attendance at the WWFM VIII Alien Nation Flash Mob last June. Woo and hoo!! (This time we need to sckootch together so we can get everyone in the photo!)
Welcome to WWFM IX - GCF Fundraiser/Silly/Goofy String!! Join us at Washington Park with some silly string and, hopefully, some actual cash to donate toward this October's GeoCoinFest.

WWFM IX - GCF Fundraiser/Silly/Goofy String!

June 9th. 11:00-11:15 a.m.
Mark your calendars.

This is your opportunity to make world-wide history (in fifteen minutes) that you won't want to miss.

~~PRELIMINARY INFORMATION~~This event is a "Flash Mob" event, a gathering of geocachers, a mere 15 minutes long!

To claim the event, you must be present and sign the event banner during this time. If you are not present to sign the event banner within the alloted time, you will not be allowed to log that you Attended the event.

"WWFM" stands for the World Wide Flash Mob event:

Hundreds of events all around the world, coordinated to happen at the same time to bring together geocachers and introduce others (non-geocachers) to geocaching.

You've heard of MEGA-EVENTS...

This is quite the opposite in a variety of ways.
Sort of like a MICRO-EVENT.

Come be part of this historic experience!
The event will begin precisely at 11:00 a.m. on June 9, 2012 and will last PRECISELY fifteen minutes.

EVENT DETAILS
  • There should be plenty of parking but, prior to the official start of the event, you must pretend you are a non-cacher, and to act like you don't know any of the other geocachers present. Ramble about, look inconspicuous, enjoy the park and/or the scenery, etc.
  • At 10:59 a.m. - Begin to make your way to the designated event coordinates shown above. Keep acting like you know no one.
  • 11:00 a.m. - At exactly 11:00 a.m. as determined by the GPS clock, Once you see the signal from your hosts, we will converge at Ground Zero for the official start of the Flash Mob event. You must sign the event banner at this time. Then mingle, socialize, and chat with your fellow cachers.
  • 11:10 a.m. - At exactly 11:15 a.m. the silly/goofy string spraying will begin. At 11:10 a.m. assemble for a group photo of our local WWFM IX cachers. After the group shot, we will hold the drawings for the two Prize Packages. After this, clean up, briefly chat, mingle, and socialize about plans for after the event.
  • 11:14 a.m. - One minute warning is called. Clean up any remaining items and prepare to leave.
  • 11:15 - LEAVE the area immediately! Go enjoy some Saturday caching! Log entries will be sealed and closed. If you missed the signing and the photo, you missed the event.
THE END.

The first Flash Mob Cache Event was hosted by iTrax and FoxTail (of PodCacher fame) on May 20 2007 in San Diego. There were around 20 coordinated events.

WWFM II – Nov 2007 – 4400 attendees at 83 events in 9 countries

WWFM III – May 2008 – almost 8000 attendees at 163 events in 15 countries

WWFM IV – Nov 2008 – 7400 people at 154 events in 20 countries

WWFM V – May 2009 – over 7000 people at 154 events in 20 countries

WWFM VI – Nov 2009 – almost 7000 people at 152 events in 21 countries

WWFM VII – May 2010 – almost 6000 people at 139 events in 19 countries.

WWFM VIII – June 2011 – 9940 people at 215 events in 20 countries.

One of the aims of the WWFM events is to have geocaching groups around the world assembling at the same time. Events for this ninth edition have been scheduled to begin at the local equivalent of 1 p.m. Eastern. (For example, 11 a.m. in Denver, CO is 10 a.m. in California is 7 p.m. in Zurich.) Come on down and join thousands of geocachers around the world!

In your "Will Attend" log please post the projected number in your group.
