Geocache Description:

Located in Cornwall Vermont near the Cornwall Swamp. The terrain shifts from open fields to wooded Pine grove and then back to an overgrown pasture. Will be wet or in winter icy.

This cache is a nice(almost 2 miles total) hike to a hidden meadow with a magnificent view of the western Green Mountains. The cache is located on the far side of the meadow which was once a pasture. As we set the Cache out there were signs of Deer, Coyote, Bobcat, Porcupine and Ruffed Grouse. Your trek will be a walk through excellent wildlife habitat. The distance will be about .9 miles out and .9 miles back. The path is unmarked and most of the trek will be in open meadow with a hundred yards or so through an open Pine woods.

Park at the turn off .6 miles east on Swamp Road if you approach on VT Route #30.

Look for the Orange gate on the left. Boots are recommended since there are some wet areas along the walk.

To the first time finder goes a medallion commemorating a significant moment in Lake Champlain History.

The Cornwall Swamp is a unique and special cedar and Maple wetland we hope you enjoy the walk and the cache.
