Geocache Description:

In 1993 Sovereign Harbour was established at Eastbourne’s eastern end providing locals and sea faring visitors with inner 65-acre marina that is protected from tidal forces by an outer marina. Built on land known as The Crumbles, Sovereign Harbour is Eastbourne's marina development. Houses and apartment blocks are arranged around an outer tidal harbour, four inner basins (including this one, known as West Harbour) and alongside the waterways and seashore.

It is one of the UK’s largest marinas and a port of call for international visitors crossing from the continent. Nestled within the town of Eastbourne at the foot of the South Downs.

Geochachers can enjoy a stroll around the labyrinth of paths and walkways that make up this harbour development and discover a wide range of diverse architecture, wildlife, bridges, beach walks and boats.

There are historic Martello towers to discover and the magnificent engineering of the twin tidal locks adjacent to the Marina Office (approximately 10 minutes walk from this cache).
