Two Trees, Two Rocks & A Little Math
Updated 5/15/23: Two Trees, Two Rocks and a Little Math is a simple, though not particular easy, four part multi along a trail in the Whitney and Thayer Woods. The cache title describes where the coord sets and cache may be found and to clarify it further: look for rocks at the bottoms of the Trees and walk around the rocks to spot the stages . The listed coordinates are for stage one: at each of next two the stages the numbers will direct you to the next stage, but you must do a little math: subtract N .050 from numbers at stage three to get the coordinates to the final: if you don't, you'll pass right by it.
Both Rock stages can be spotted from the ground: the first one requires climbing but the final does not. Sharp eyes might spot a telltale above the cache. Be careful, especially if it's wet. You should be able to review the coords without opening anything. After having at least three small rock top caches "go missing", the final is now a medium sized lock&lock that is wrapped up out of sight under "cover". Please notice how it is wrapped and rewrap and recover the same way after signing in.
The cache contains a logbook and pencil stub only but has room for trinkets if you want to leave some. For your own sake, and for the sake of those you love: Know Your Limits. Take the terrain rating seriously, especially when wet. It's only for the very short bit, but it seems real to me (especially as I get older, sigh... ) Elsewise, unlike most of the trails in this forest, your route is not a woods road, but a winding narrow footpath. Not too tough and Good Stuff. This is one of my personal favs; I hope you think so too...
Enjoy
