Where The Green Ferns Grow Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Peaksbagger: This was my first cache and I had a lot of fun with it. Good old Faithwalker was the first to find it and my buddy Info had to live with being second. :) I miss you guys. Thanks to all who hunted it.

Geocache Description:

Located a little off trail in a nature preserve.

Cache is an average sized green ammo box. Access to the preserve is obtained by taking Keystone Rd. and turning south onto Lora Lane. Lora Lane dead ends into the preserve entrance. Preserve hours are from dawn to dusk and are enforced.

Park at the entrance and pick up a trail map. The hike in is just under a mile on a well-maintained, level trail. The trail is a loop, so it doesn't matter which direction you travel.

This is a beautiful area with many delicate plants. PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY! The cache is placed where you don't need to crush anything other than leaves to find it. To get to it, go to the top of the loop and find a red-topped hiking post marker at 28 degrees, 07.386 N, 082 degrees, 40.398 W. From that post, walk at a bearing of 290 degrees down a gulley for about 40 yards. Then turn left (a bearing of about 230 degrees) for about 15 yards. Cache is down in a stump. Thanks and enjoy!
