The GZ is a little walk up a path not far from our favourite place in the nearby Sculpture Park. We have called our favourite place "A Seat with a View". Can you find our "A Seat with a View" in the Scultpure Park? We encourage you to take some time, after you have found the cache to enjoy the views from there and perhaps you can even take a photo of yourself sitting there.....
This is our very first cache and it is situated near the Barossa Sculpture Park which is located at the Mengler Hill Scenic Lookout.
Mengler Hill Scenic Lookout is approximately 8 km from Tanunda, which houses the Sculpture Park in addition to the magnificent views. On a clear day the views are amazing!
The sculptured works are abstract or abstracted figurative reflecting on the site, the environment and the sculptor's relationship with the Barossa community.
The sculptors work in granite by direct-carving. Their designs reflect the Barossa environment and the character of the Barossa Hills.
There are brochures on sculptures available from the Barossa Regional Gallery, Tanunda and the Barossa Wine & Visitor Information Centre, Tanunda.
Close by Mengler Hill is the Kaiser Stuhl Conservation Park which is 390 hectares of flora, fauna, walking trails and photo opportunities. It is well worth taking some time to take a walk through this conservation park.
